Some things I read this week

Some things I read this week:

Which Computational Universe Do We Live In? - I honestly thought cryptography was a settled science. I knew it was based on computationally hard problems, but there’s more to it. I hadn’t realised how much of its security rests on unproved assumptions. WTF. Mildly terrifying reading it, yet grateful there are people out there working on it.

Stack Overflow: The Architecture - an old post, but covers how Stack Overflow (god bless their soul) hosted their site back in the day. Relevant? Not particularly. Interesting? 100%.

Tailcat - open-source tool I came across when I read this blog post. Seems useful when you can’t connect directly over SSH, i.e. connecting to a VM behind a router you don’t control.

Software's centaur age may last decades - nice counter to the negativity I keep reading about AI and software development. Nice mention of meat proxy (great phrase) too.
